Christmas Vacation!

It is Christmas Break yahoo! Not sure what I am going to be doing but hopefully lots of fun stuff! I hope to hang out with lots of people, maybe even try something new and do all the classic chirstmas stuff! If anyone has any ideas of something fun to do let me know! Ha ha! I am in such a good mood, it is the greatest feeling christmas and having a period of relaxation! So for school I am in Key Club as I have probably mentioned before, or you already know. But anyways for Decembers project we decided to write letters for Macy's santa letter donation to Make a Wish Foundation. For every santa letter they recieve they will give one dollar to Make a Wish Foundation. As a Key Club we decided to get as many people in our school to write a letter to santa. We put letters in the teachers boxes asking them to have their classes participate in this and possibly give out extra credit for those who wrote letters to santa. We didn't expect as many letters as we got! It was insane! Yesterday after school we were there for awhile folding letters into envelopes and putting address labels to santa on them. We ended up running out of envelopes and labels! There are still three boxes of letters that we need to put in envelopes and address labels on! Crazy! We went to Macy's after doing that and dropped off two boxes full of letters into the big letter drop thingy they have inside of the store. It was probably 600 letters and that isn't even all of them! Man, it was crazy! I am glad that we are helping some child's wish come true though!
Well I hope everyone does something fun this break and if I don't see you or write on here again untill Christmas, HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Lots of Love!

Where is the Snow?!

So it worries me slightly that there is no snow and it is December 4th! Where are you snow, and what is stopping you from coming? Global Warming? Who knows? I really want it to snow because first of all there are really fun things to do in the snow, make snowmen, snow angels, snow forts, snowball fights, sleding, skiing, snowshoeing and many others. Second of all Christmas is not Christmas without the snow. So there is my little snow rant. So now everyone needs to pray for snow so that all of that stuff can happen, especially the skiing cause I have gone a couple of times, but the snow just isn't spectacular and you can't go on all of the cool runs. That's all for tonight, I am super tired even though it is super early. I hope everyone is doing well.
Love you!

Australia

Thanksgiving was on Thursday yay! There are so many things that I am thankful for, but mainly I am thankful for the life I have and that I am fortunate enough not to be living in poverty or any hard situations like so much of the world lives in. Thanksgiving always gets me thinking about those millions of people who live in poverty who are always happy about the simple things in life. I just ask everyone to think about those simple things in life and cherish them, that is what we all need to do. Also this holiday season think about what you could give and not what you might be getting. There are so many people that need you, so please go help them! Keep the giving going throughout the year, remember it can always just be something small because even the smallest things can bring miracles. This is going way off the topic of giving but if you want to see a really good movie go see the movie Australia, it is an amazing movie. It reminded me to remember my dreams and never lose sight of them and to accept everyone in this world even if they come from a different culture and background that is completely different from your own. They are still people and still deserve to be loved!

Love you!

The Most Important Thing About The Sky Is That It Is Always There!

Hey Ya'll!

I know I haven't written on this thing for freakin forever and I am sorry I have been crazy busy lately. Anyways I have a few things to write about. The First thing is that I went to amazing California over UEA and had a blast in Santa Monica! It was so fun, we saw my grandparents and some of my aunts and their families and a few of my older cousins and one of my second cousins who is way cute and is like 5. Our hotel we stayed in was called The Hotel California, sweet right, like the song! We went to Santa Monica peir which was right next to our hotel and went on the fairs wheel there which is like my favorite faris wheel in the world! The next day we drove along the coast line and had lunch at Paradise Cove with the gradparents. After that we rode bikes and rollerbladed along the boardwalk on the beach! It was way fun! The morning we left we had a big brunch with a bunch of our family, it was great seeing everyone again. The second thing is that Halloween was fun, I had no school so it was a nice relaxing day and then I went to Alexis's house and we watched a bunch of scary movies with some other of our friends. The third thing is that I had a dance performance TODAY! It went really well and was about the most important things in our lives. My classes dance was about The most important thing about the sky is that it is always there! It was a way cool dance and was to a song from the movie August Rush. Another girl in my class named Audrey and I had to do imprave ( really not sure how you spell that) which was fun yet challenging because they would ask the audience what was important to them and they would call on these little kids who would be like polar bears, and I would be like how do you dance about polar bears? Ha ha anyways it was fun and I love my dance class because we are so close and just like one big family, we have all these great inside jokes and everything it is great. Well that is my update for ya'll! Oh ya here is a picture of my sister in Cali, and I will get those dance photos up sometime later!

Homecoming!

Homecoming was the greatest!

With my school's Key Club that I am secretary of we planned Homecoming! The theme was based on a song called Loving Me, so we based the decorations on a silluotte of a couple and romeo and juliet. We apparently got the best turn out in 6 years for a homecoming dance at my school, it was awesome! I went stag with a few of my friends and we partied it up in our short dresses and high heels! After we went bowling it was way fun! Here are a few pictures from the night!:

Being 17 and much more!

Wow! I haven't gone on here for awhile. Lets see since then school had started, at has been almost a month of school now and it has been crazy! There has been a lot of homework, and crazy planning for Homecoming! Which I have to go decorate today in about an hour. I have also turned 17! Crazy! I am now 17! Which is pretty exciting! It was a great birthday that included a wonderful surprise of my friends waking me up in the middle of the night, midnight on Saturday the 13th with a cake and poppers and them singing Happy Birthday! Then after that we ate some of the cake and then they took me bowling! It was quite fun, and I actually bowled pretty well. Last night was way awesome too, it was my school Hillcrest High School, burning of the H pep rally. It was way cool with men's drill doing a amazing and funny performance and the candle light ceremony with the conclusion of many fireworks and the burning of the H that sent a huge fire ball into the sky! Tonight is the Homecoming football game and then Saturday will be the dance. Which I am actually not really going with anybody, me and my friends are just going stag! It will be fun! Well there is an update of the crazy life I am living and I shall get back to you some other time!
Lots of Love!

Start of School

I can't believe that school starts in a week from today! It is so crazy, it seriously has felt that this summer has only been like a week long! I am not sure how I feel about this coming school year, in some ways it will be really fun to see everyone again and go to school activities. In many ways though, it is going to be extremly hard. With the start of the major ib classes I will be taking I am going to have to be studying a whole lot more this year, and working twice as hard. Though I am excited for dance both at school and at Virgina Tanner that will be starting up. (Audrey I hope you have signed up this year!) No I did not just talk to myself, I am talking to my other friend Audrey. Anyway, I hope ya'll are okay with school starting, it is kind-of excitng, who knows what the new year will bring along! Feel free to write what your schedules are like or what you are nervous or excited for in this upcoming, very fastly approaching school year, in my comments! Have a great year everybody!

Magnificent Michigan

Every year my family and I go to Michigan to a smaller town called Traverse City, which is the cherry capital of the world so they have a bunch of stores that are all based around cherries and make jam, salsa, and multiple different spreads out of cherries! Both of my mom's sisters and there famlies join us and it is pretty much one big famliy vacation that lasts for two weeks. It seems after many years, ever since I can remember that we have gone to Michigan that I would get sick of it but I don't. Every time we go we do mainly the same things like go to the little towns near by and shop around at the cute little stores, and go to the Suttons Bay Art festival, and many other things like that, but each time I get something else out of it. Sure sometimes spending that much time with the family can be intense and at times you just want to scream and go running from the cottage, but really those times I spend with my family are some of the best. Here are some of the things we did this year:

Swimming in the lake at night!

Have a campfire with s'mores at my aunts house.

See my aunts new little dog Biff! One of the cutest things ever!

Hiking the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes to Lake Michigan
Celebrating my Aunts B-day!

Celebrating my grandpas b-day 88!
Riding in the motorboat we rented, waterskiing and tubing behind it. Also floating in this cool balck tire my aunt bought.

Also we went shopping at a bunch of cute little shops, went to the Suttons Bay Art Festival, went to the North West Michigan Fair where we got air brush tatoos, and old fashioned pictures taken. We also got a lot of sun and I tanned a little, and we went out to dinner a couple of nights. It was a very fun vacation and I was sad to leave, Michigan I will miss you until next year! -Audrey

Memories

Do it, you know you want to....1. Add a comment on my blog and leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot just do anything you remember!2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

San Fransisco Mission Trip

This past week I went to San Fransisco on a mission trip with an organization called CSM or Center for Student Missions. We had a wonderful city host named Mckenzie. We drove a long 12 hours to get to San Fransisco starting at 5:00 am on the 29th of June. The city itself isn't very big but there are many people of different cultures and many buildings packed together. We stayed in an Baptist church in lower Haight. On the first night we went to a Honduran resturaunt called La Piasa Resturante and had burritos and tacos that were delicious with some bannana plantains. On the second day we helped out at the Salvation Army and helped with their kids camp. We did a skit for them and my brother brad dressed up as a dog named Cooper. We went to the park with the kids and played with them their for most of the day. For dinner that night we went to a Tai resturaunt called Zen Kai. After that we went on a prayer tour where we saw many districts of the city. Some of these districts were in poverty and some were very wealthy. We went to this one point in the city where you can see a view of the entire city! The next day we went to a place called St. Vincent De Paul Society, where we served food for lower income and homeless people. After that we drove to Berkely and did a thing called Meet a Need. We got $20 and we could use it in any way to help a person or a group of people. We meet many cool people in this park called People's Park and ended up buying this guy named Ken some movie tickets, because it was something that he really wanted to do. We also handed out giftcards to people that we had brought along with us. After that we ended up walking around the Berkely campus, which was really beautiful. For dinner we went to a Indian Resturuant called One Dollar Curry House. The next day we helped out with the San Fransisco Rescue Mission, we helped with preparing food, sorting clothes in a thrift store, and helping with a church service. That night we went to an Italian resturaunt in North Beach called Pasta Pomadero. After that we went to Fisherman's Warfe and Giradeli Square. The next day we helped out at the Alameada Food Bank, where we sorted about 4 tons of oranges. Then we went and did a thing called a City Search, where we only got two dollars for lunch, a bus ticket, and money for a phone call. We had to leave other money, watches, jewelry, phones, etc., behind. We did this in the Haight Ashbury area. We ended up combining our money and buying a pizza and sharing it with this homeless guy in the park. That night we ate at the Baptist church and had burritos from a place called Azteca Mexican. Then we had a worship service with everyone there. The next day we went and passed out peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches to people in this square of San Fransisco. After that we went to a hospital called Luguna Honda and helped with the residents there. For dinner we went to this Chinese Resturaunt close to China Town. After we walked around China Town, where I bought a Komno. The next two days we spent time in Taho and stayed in a cabin on the lake. We got back yesterday at 6:30. It was an amazing trip!
