The Good Stuff

Laughing and a running hey, hey

Skipping and a jumping
Standing in the sunlight laughing,

Hiding behind a rainbow's wall,

Slipping and sliding
I gotta get out of bed, Get a hammer and nail Learn how to use my hands
Daddy's belt, momma's drapes

Standin' tall on the backyard shed

Lookin' cool in my superman cape
You can hear the cries from the carnival rides,

The pinball bills, skee ball slides,

Watching the summer sun fall out of sight,

There’s a warm wind coming in from off of the ocean

Making its way past the hotel wall to fill the streets
Its the age of princesses and pirate ships and the seven dwarfs
You tell me that you need me

Then you go and cut me down, but wait
Do you remember when we used to sing,

Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
Somehow you come along

Just like a flower poking through the sidewalk crack and just like that

Words are flowing out like

endless rain into a paper cup
so i take a few steps back

and put on a wider lens

and it changes your skin,

your sex, and what your wearing

distance shows your silhouette

to be a lot like mine
There’s a local band playing at the sea side pavilion

And I got just enough cash to get us in
Every time our eyes meet this feeling inside me is almost more than I can take
It starts in my toes

make me crinkle my nose

where ever it goes

i always know

that you make me smile

But you’re just so cool, run your hands through your hair absent-mindedly makin’ me want you

You make me dance like a fool

Forget how to breathe

Shine like gold

Buzz like a bee

I don’t know how you do what you do

Cooler then the flip side of my pillow that’s right

I like the way I can’t keep my focus I watch you talk, you didn’t notice I hear the words, but all I can think is We should be together

so i took a deep breath and became

the white girl with the hair

and you sat right beside me

while everybody stared

And as we lie beneath the stars we realize how small we are If they could love like you and me Imagine what the world could be

When the road gets dark and you can no longer see Just let my love throw a spark

Images of broken light which

dance before me like a million eyes

And in the air the fireflies our only light in paradise

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky confusing stars for satellites

And the moon was so beautiful,

that the ocean held up a mirror

We spoke slow,

and we spoke lowly

like it was taking more time

than usual to choose

the words to go

with your squeaky sandal shoes

like time is not a thing

that's ours to lose

There’s something about the way the street looks when its just rained, there’s a glow off the pavement

Now that it’s raining more than ever Know that we still have each other You can stand under my umbrella

You can chase a dream

That seems so out of reach

And you know it might not ever come your way

Dream it anyway

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance.

Life, it's ever so strange

It's so full of change

Think that you've worked it out

then BANG

Right out of the blue

Something happens to you

To throw you off course

spin me round again

and rub my eyes,

this can't be happening

Was I out of line? Did I say something way too honest

Made you run and hide like a scared little boy?

If love and peace is so strong Why are there pieces of love that don’t belong?

And I'm hearing what you say

But I just can't make a sound

Break my heart but it won't bleed

my only friends are pirates, it's just who I am

Cause goodbyes are like a roulette wheel

you never know where they're gonna land

first you're spinning, then you're standing still

Walk away as if I don't care

learn to shoulder my mistakes

Pain hurts, but only for a minute

Yeah life is short so go on and live it

So, If your mad, get mad! Don’t hold it all inside

Cause when the world doesn’t make no sense And your feeling just a little too tense Gotta loosen up those chains and dance

And when violet eyes get brighter And heavy wings grow lighter I’ll taste the sky and feel alive again

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky Are also on the faces of people going by I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do They’re really saying I love you

Pools of sorrow waves of joy

are drifting through my open mind

Possessing and caressing me

Half of my heart's got a real good imagination

Half of my heart's got you

Half of my heart's got a right mind to tell you

That half of my heart won't do

I hope you never look back, but you never forget All the ones who love you, in the place you left

Laughing and a running, hey, hey.

First Day Of Summer

Its officially the first day of Summer! While school has been out for awhile and I have definately gotten into a more summertime sort of groove I can now say that it is summer! These are some things that I definately want to do this summer:
  • Read as many books as possible
  • Go to Lagoon and Seven Peaks as much as possible because I have a season pass to both places
  • Do some Yoga and Stretch and Strengthen Classes
  • Go to the Sandy Ampitheater for some plays and concerts
  •  Go to other concerts
  • Scrapbook
  • Hang with as many people as possible before college
  • Have the Peruvian Park Reunion
  • Hopefully go to my aunts house with a friend for a long weekend
  • Go to Wolf Creek
  • Go to Snowbird
  • Celebrate my grandpa's 90th birthday
  • Watch shooting stars
  • Watch fireworks
  • See Fireflies
  • Swing
  • Watch a movie outside
  • Have a picnic
  • Watch a sunrise and a sunset
  • Dance in the rain
  • Spend all day long somewhere with a good friend
There are many more things to list but this is just a taste of what I want my summer to be like.
Sumertime is finally here
That old ballpark, man, is back in gear
Out on 49
Man I can see the lights

School's out and the nights roll in
Man, just like a long lost friend
You ain't seen in awhile
And can't help but smile

And it's two bare feet on the dashboard
Young love in an old Ford
Cheap shades and a tattoo
And a Yoo-hoo bottle on the floorboard

Perfect song on the radio
Sing along cause its one we know
Its a smile, Its a kiss
Its a sip of wine, its Summertime
Sweet Summertime

Its Just A Dream

WOW… I am a Hillcrest High School graduate. Many times I can’t believe it I feel as if I am floating in a dream. The whole graduation ceremony seemed like a dream. I couldn’t believe it that I was actually there graduating in my white robe that represents Hillcrest. Taking pictures with my friends all in their robes, all with our honor cords or other things that we have earned in the past years. Walking inside the E Center waiting for the ceremony to start. Walking in to a packed stadium filled with everyone’s friends and family. Listening to speeches and music that were inspiring and filled with hope. Almost crying but not quite because of being in shock. Walking up with my row to get my picture taken, hand over my card with my name on it, get my name announced, receive multiple congratulations, my diploma cover, many hand shakes, and another picture. Then walking back down to sit with my row, moving my tassel to the other side, and then throwing my hat up into the air. Walking out of the stadium not believing that it is over, turning in my gown, getting my actual diploma, and then going out to greet my family and friends.

Afterwards we headed to the cheesecake factory but after eating I felt kind-of sick. At first I was worried that I was going to miss grad night. I went home got ready for grad night anyways and then left. I picked up my friend and we headed to the sports mall where it was held. There I played tennis, Wally ball, got many pictures taken in the photo booth, watched people play minute to win it, ate, and just hung out with all of my great friends. It was an awesome night! I seemed more alive for that part of the night and not so much in the dream state that I was in earlier that evening. After partying it up I went home at 4:30 in the morning and slept till like 12:30 in the afternoon. It was weird to wake up the next day and believe what had happened.

I love my graduating class of 2010 and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to be apart of the class. I will miss everybody but I know we all have bright futures ahead of us and amazing things will be accomplished. I hope my path crosses with many of them in the future and I hope to hear of all their accomplishments!

CLASS OF 2010, WE DID IT!!!
