This past weekend my cousin, aunt, and uncle were in town and we skied it up a storm! They came in on Friday after my family had celebrated Chinese New Year with a Chinese family that we are good friends with, we ate at a local Chinese restaurant except that their family ordered the food for us. Some of it was good stuff that I would normally order but other items were duck, fish, and shrimp in weird sauces. Anyways my cousin, aunt, and uncle came and we all watched the Olympic Opening Ceremonies in Vancouver. We then woke up the next morning after sleeping in a little bit and headed up to Alta. We all skied for a few hours and then my mom, aunt, uncle and I went in for lunch at Alta’s Rustler lodge and ate lunch with some journalists that were visiting Alta. Both of the journalists had grown up in the UK and had gone to boarding schools as children. They had some interesting stories to tell of the boarding schools that were quite entertaining. I also loved their accents, I love a good British accent! After eating with them we skied some more and then called it a day. For dinner my aunt and uncle took us out to this amazing restaurant up Millcreek canyon called Log Haven. The restaurant is in the prettiest location and inside of it is like a extremely nice log cabin. The food was delicious and was presented very well. They gave my mom, aunt, and I roses for Valentines day. Our waitress was a little crazy but other than that the place was magical.
We came home watched more Olympics and then went to bed so that we could rest up for another day of skiing. We skied three days in a row and it was some of the best skiing I had in a long time because of all the fresh snow that we got. I have been skiing so much lately that I have been starting to feel like a ski bum. ha ha not really but close. It was a great time with my family and I wish they could come out skiing every weekend!
I also went skiing last night at Brighton for the first time in a long time. I hadn’t been night skiing in awhile and forgot how fun it is. My friend and I skied around and even tried the half pipe trying to look like we knew what we were doing. ha ha. I am sure I looked stupid, but it was still fun!
Quote of the moment: super cool party people bid you a super cool adieu!
