Brad Paisley started off with a laser show, that continued throughout the concert. For every song he had different animations that he made himself. This included a star wars themed animation when he was introducing his band to us. Between some songs he was his funny old self cracking jokes about certain things he wrote his songs about. “All you Salt Lake City rednecks look so good in camouflage,” said the country star as he opened with “Camouflage,” off his latest album. Before the night was over, in a memorable 22-song set, Paisley would feature the love song “Ticks,” utilize veteran actor Andy Griffith on the giant video screen in a poignant version of “Waiting on a Woman” and pay tribute to a host of country greats from Reba to Johnny Cash in “This Is Country Music.”
He would share the stage with McCreery for a hilarious version of “Celebrity” and The Band Perry for his signature “Whisky Lullaby.”
He gave away a signed guitar to a young girl, danced around the aisles to get close to his fans and sang a song on a second stage to pay tribute to those “in the cheap seats where I sat as a teenager.”
It was hard to know whether to watch the video screen, where all sorts of wild things were happening, listen to the music, enjoy the animated audience dancing in the aisles or watch the laser lights that often played on the arena stage.
He even had a hologram of Carrie Underwood to sing with him for their song "Remind Me." This hologram fooled my friends and I though as we thought that Carrie Underwood was actually at the concert. If only she was, this just goes to show you what you can do with technology. haha
Brad Paisley finished with his song "Alcohol" after doing an encore with his song "Water" and diving into a pool of digitalized water.
It was a fabulous concert and I am so glad that I got to go! Here are some pictures from the event.
